How much smaller will my file get?
Text-heavy PDFs usually shrink 5–25% in Basic mode. Scanned or image-heavy PDFs often drop 60–90% in Medium or Strong mode.
Why does Strong mode remove selectable text?
It rasterises each page into a compressed image. That is what produces the large savings, but the text becomes part of the picture. Run OCR afterwards if you need it searchable again.
